Windy-rainy-coldy days are OVER! This week, 2 Spanish girls Raqel and Ane arrived to Tiraspol to spend 24 hours with Go Tiraspol Hostel and capture some of the unique moments. But what is more importantly and I am VERY HAPPY about it is that they brought lots of SUN and WARM WEATHER TO TIRASPOL! Muchas gracias mis queridos amigos! Realmente lo hizo de verdad!
Raquel is an EVS Volunteer in a small Moldovan town, Calaras. She works with eldery people trying to help them to feel more unclouded and active in their daily life. Ane is a friend of Raquel, visiting her in Moldova and Transnistria. As some of our subscribers know, EVS is European Volunteering Service program funded through ERASMUS + program. There genera structure is designed to help both the volunteer to complete his\her project and hosting organisation to have experience withing ERASMUS + program. There are about 70 EVS volunteers spreads across Moldova. As the matter of fact there where NO EVS volunteers in Transnistria under Youth in Action (ended in 2014) and current ERASMUS + program…food for thoughts. Nevertheless I always admire those volunteers who are visiting Transnistria even on daily tour despite all the prejudices and stereotypes you can find in the Media.
The Soviet city tour with Raquel and Ane ended near the Tank and shortly we where surrounded with retro Soviet cars and journalists. It looked like Go Tiraspol ordered them on purpose but no…..) pure coincidence, lucky us!
After long exhausting day we arrived back to the Hostel and ate cooked dinner ( Georgian Hinkali)……
Thanks a lot for your visit Raquel and Ane! I hope you enjoyed your stay and don’t forget, EVS volunteers (+friends) are always welcome at Go Tiraspol on Lenina street!
Le deseo todo lo mejor y mucho éxito en su trabajo y vida personal!
